Last year, Jurassic Haze brought home the top award for the “Best IPA in Grand Rapids”. This year we will be bringing a new beer to the challenge. The whole Arvon Brewing Co. team will be in attendance to enjoy Grand Rapids’ best IPAs. Create TC and 7 Monks Taproom are hosting the 2nd Annual Grand Rapids IPA Challenge presented by MI LOCAL HOPS!

The IPA challenge is a local competition between TEN Grand Rapids breweries. Each brewery will produce their “Best IPA” and submit it for the event. 200 beer lovers will have the opportunity to purchase tickets, be a judge, and vote for their favorite brew anytime between 5-9pm. All tasting will be blind. At 9:30pm, an awards ceremony will take place. The winning brewery will take home a trophy and the privilege of saying that their brewery has “The Best IPA in Grand Rapids.”

This is an exciting and friendly competition. Our intent behind the Grand Rapids IPA Challenge is to support the quality craft beer and camaraderie amongst our area brewers by highlighting both big and small craft breweries of the Grand Rapids region.

Tickets are $40 per participant and include the following:
-10 sample tickets (one taste per beer, 3oz. pours)
-2 wild card tastings (yes, 12 total tastings)
-Greasy Spoon Smash Burger
-Taster Glass
-Descriptions, Rating Sheet, Voting Ballot
-Attendance at the Awards Celebration (9:30pm)
-Chance to win a Friar's Union Membership (Lifetime!) at 7 Monks
